Ready to kick off the Yakima Valley’s summer festival and event season? With our signature summertime weather comes a fantastic lineup of events just made for long, sunny days and balmy nights. From the newest celebration of Yakima Valley wines, sporting events and a one-of-a-kind mountain music fest to heritage and cultural festivities, you’ll find a perfect way to enjoy the flavors, sights and sounds of the Valley all summer long. Time to take a trip!
Here’s a peak at 9 events on the calendar to kick off the beginning of the summer season, with many, many more to follow! Check out the full lineup of fun and festivities coming up in July, August and beyond.

Red’s Rendezvous
Located right on shores of the state’s renowned river fly fishing river, the Yakima River, it makes sense that Red’s Fly Shop hosts one of the best fishing events in the region, Saturday May 30. Experienced anglers and beginners alike enjoy an array of riverside clinics, seminars, competitions and family friendly festivities. They have specialty clinics for youth and dedicated clinics and experiences for women.

Chinook Fest
This iconic mountain music festival is where great music meets the great outdoors with a full lineup featuring Them Dirty Roses, The Brudi Brothers and more. Chinook Fest 2026, June 18 to 21, will feature everything you’ve always loved about Chinook Fest and the return of favorite new traditions from last year. Make the most of the beautiful setting against the Cascade Mountain foothills, along the Naches River, with glamping tents, car+tent sites, VIP tables and a weekend packed with activities. Enjoy the art of sound healing with a meadow sound bath or wake for morning yoga in the meadow. Find friends and fun in the festival activity zone for the Chinook Fest Games and more. Get ready for the campsite decorating contest and, f course, bring your hiking shoes to explore the surrounding trails. Make your reservations for the greatest mountain music festival, as tickets and RV and camping spots can go quickly. Brand new this year is the Chinook Fest Front Row Membership, with exclusive perks and insider connections (very limited quantity). Check out other nearby places to stay, including the Whistlin’ Jack’s Outpost Lodge just a few minutes up the highway. This event is 21+ Thursday through Saturday with kids welcome on Sunday.

Prosser Scottish Fest and Highland Games
Grab your kilt and head to the town of Prosser for a day filled with Scottish flair and family friendly fun on June 20. For nearly 25 years, this vibrant festival has celebrated Scottish heritage with dancing, music, traditional athletic competitions, bites and pints from The Flying Anvil Pub, and the Hilghland Vendor Market. Get in the swing of things with renowned Celtic bands Shamrock & Sage, the Katie Jane Band and several more.
Prosser Wine Music Festival
With more than 20 wineries throughout town, the Prosser Wine Music Festival, June 19 to 21, is a must for music lovers. Each winery hosts live performances ranging from Americana, folk and fun indie-pop to classic rock, country and vibrant Latin rhythms. Tasty treats perfectly paired with Prosser wines make this a delicious weekend!

Old Town Days
Take a step back in time and see the American Frontier come to life. On Fathers Day weekend, June 20 to 21, the grounds of the Central Washington Agricultural Museum will be full of living history camps, displays, demos and hands-on activities showcasing pioneer life. Check out the state’s largest Civil War reenactment and family fun to fill the day.
FIFA World Cup 2026™ Watch Party Events
Get ready to experience the energy of the world’s game right at Sozo Sports Complex! City of Yakima is honored to have been designated as one of the official Fan Zones in the state for multiple matches hosted in Seattle, June 18, 19, 24 and 25. If you’re not one of the fortunate to score tickets, head to Sozo as they bring the global stage to Yakima with an atmosphere you won’t want to miss. Enjoy food trucks, a kids zone, beer garden and prize giveaways, not to mention plenty of soccer action on the big stage! Sunnyside Summer Ale Fest
You can’t find a better place for a craft beer festival than right in the heart of Yakima Valley Hop Country. Head to the town of Sunnyside on Saturday, June 27, for a summertime celebration of the world-class hops it produces. Spend a day under the sun with great craft beer, local wine, food and live music.

Rosé Revolution
This brand-new event kicked off with an amazing start last summer and returns for a much-anticipated second round June 27 to 29! Join Yakima Valley wineries as they host a pink revolution, showcasing the diversity of all their best rosés. Kick off summer, with a festive splash of pink and enjoy pink-themed festivities, rosé cocktails, perfectly pink pairings and rosé discounts only for the weekend! Dye Hard 5K Color Run
Sign up for fluorescent fun at Dye Hard, Yakima’s nighttime 5K fun run, Saturday, June 27. Run under the glow of black lights, covered in fluorescent powder, and then finish with the post-event party, complete with music, dancing and even more powder. Bubbles are back this year too! Since its launch in 2018, the Dye Hard 5K has grown in size and scope. What began with five color zones and no bubbles now features seven color zones and four bubble zones. The 5K course is designed for runners (and walkers) of all ages.
