Farming since 1904, Johnson Orchards is located right in the middle of town. In addition to a variety of fresh produce, the market is stocked with locally made artisan foods and goods and, of course, delicious treats from the Bake Shop, open Tuesday through Saturday. Pies are the specialty, along with other from-scratch pastries. A new, second location, The Little Bake Shop, offers an even greater variety of hand-made baked goods, sweet and savory hand pies, breakfast sandwiches and more, all served with some of the best coffee around.

Ahtanum Berry Patch and Bakery

A multi-generational, family-owned berry farm and bakery in Yakima’s West Valley, Ahtanum Berry Patch is as well known for their for their delicious, handmade baked goods as they are for farm-fresh berries and u-pick. Famous for both classic and berry cinnamon rolls, they also craft scones, pies, cobblers, cookies and more – all made in-house daily with simple, whole ingredients including, of course, their hand-picked berries. The bakery is open Wednesday through Saturday.

Majors Restaurant

A guide to breakfast hot spots wouldn’t be complete without Major’s Restaurant. Serving the valley since 2000, this family-owned fast food stop with old-fashioned charm has a cult following for their breakfast burritos. These loaded creations come in regular, triple (with three meats0 and Mexican, made with chorizo. The menu also features full breakfasts and omelet plates, as well as breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles and biscuits and gravy. Choose from two locations, in Union Gap and Yakima.

A recent addition in Yakima’s West Valley, Effin Egg may be a chain, but it’s popular for a reason. You can’t beat the extensive menu of egg-centric breakfast creations served all day. The selection of breakfast sandwiches, including the OG Sandwich with signature sauce, is just the beginning. They’re joined by eight different breakfast burritos, breakfast tacos and tots and sweet traditions from the griddle.
