The votes are in! The Yakima Valley has been named Best Wine Region in USA TODAY’S 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards! The awards were announced after a month-long public vote between 20 outstanding wine regions from all over the U.S., as selected by a panel of wine experts and wine writers.
The national recognition is a testament to the hard work and passion of the exceptional, local wineries, winemakers and growers throughout the Yakima Valley American Viticulture Area (AVA). Congratulations to them and to everyone who makes the Yakima Valley an award-winning wine region!
What Makes our Wine Region Something Special?
It certainly is special for its place as the oldest AVA in the state, first recognized in 1983. It’s also renowned for its unmatched growing conditions and superior wine grapes used to craft premium wines. What really makes the Yakima Valley something special, though, are the folks you find here and the experience they create. It’s the winemakers, growers and everyone in the industry who’s proud to be part of a wine country unlike any other.
Yakima Valley Wine Country is where you simply come as you are to enjoy award-winning wines, warm welcomes and vineyard views. It’s a laid-back, leisurely wine country experience where anyone, wine experts and the wine curious alike, fit right in and have fun. You won’t find a dress code or a pretentious moment, just great wine right here where Washington wine was born.
