Tyra Bleek, GM at Freehand Cellars, has been in the industry for seven years. She loves a good beverage in hand (preferably Freehand wine), but what really drives her is the hunt for great food.
“For me, it’s simple: if a place nails the drinks but falls short on food and service, I’m out. That’s why my Google Maps is packed with local restaurant picks—spots I know deliver good food and exceptional service. I love sharing these finds, supporting both the well-known favorites and the smaller operators working tirelessly to keep their doors open.”

Cowiche Creek Brewing.
This place is a foodie’s dream. With an ever-changing menu, you’ll never get bored. They serve one of the best burgers in town, and the rotating sandwiches are equally impressive—ranging from pulled pork to pot roast to a classic French dip, all served on locally sourced bread. You truly can’t go wrong here.
My Little Restaurant.
I found this spot during my search for the best queso birria in the area. It’s my current favorite found in Selah, with El Gordos in Sunnyside close behind. If you have guests visiting, one of these places should be on your list.
2nd Street Grill.
Much like Cheers, this is the kind of place where everybody knows your name. The menu offers a wide range of options to suit any palate, making it my go-to spot for comfort food done right.
The Kiln
If you’re a pizza lover, this is the best in town. They also offer excellent sandwiches, salads, and gluten-free bread options, which is a big plus for many gluten-sensitive diners.
Provisions
If you’re looking to take your culinary experience to the next level, Provisions is a must. Their expansive menu is impressively creative—ranging from steak to pasta (including gluten-free options), fresh salads, and some of the best desserts around. The space has the ambiance of a dark, moody bar, yet delivers a bright, memorable culinary experience.
Taqueria Rolly’s
If you’re looking for truly delicious, piping-hot breakfast burritos that are served out of a bus, this is the place to go. I love grabbing one to split with a friend. Pro tip: call ahead to pre-order for pickup.
Taqueria Don Chepes
Our go-to taco truck for fresh, reasonably priced street tacos. If you’re heading to a brewery or winery that allows outside food, stop by to grab tacos to-go and enjoy them alongside your beer or wine.
