From Mexico to Yakima: Contemporary Oaxacan Prints at the Larson Gallery
10/31/2026 - 12/04/2026
Opening Reception: October 31 from 3 pm to 5 pm
This exhibition, curated by Art Historian Dr. Deborah Caplow, presents a selection of prints made by contemporary Oaxacan printmakers using a variety of printmaking processes. Oaxaca has become a center for contemporary printmaking, with print studios run by individual artists or collectives producing strong, vibrant work that has caught the attention of art enthusiasts worldwide. The influence of Oaxacan printmaking can be seen in the work of printmaker Christie Tirado (MFA, University of Wisconsin, formerly of Yakima) who is also included in this exhibition, creating a direct line of artistic practice between the Oaxacan and Yakima art communities.
Curator’s Talk November 12 at 6 pm
