    Arts and Culture Kids and Family Classes and Workshops

    Sat. July 11, 2026. From 1 pm to  3 pm ath the Larson Gallery This class will feature Jack Cannon and focus on light, shadow, and color.

    Explore the expressive possibilities of acrylic paint on a small scale. In this class, students will develop foundational techniques for capturing landscapes — from mixing color to building depth and atmosphere — all within an intimate, manageable format. Working small encourages bold decisions and quick experimentation, making it an ideal approach for beginners and experienced painters alike. Students will leave with a series of finished pieces and a toolkit of skills they can carry into any size canvas. $10 Payable at the Door.

     The Yakima Arts Academy  believes every young person deserves the chance to explore their creativity, discover their artistic voice, and connect with a supportive community. Founded as a nonprofit organization in Yakima, our mission is to promote art education and social engagement for youth by providing access to high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.
