This beloved exhibit showcases tradition, culture, and many local stories that resonated with so many community members. Come revisit favorite moments or see it for the first time before it's gone.     Artifact Spotlight
    For July’s artifact, the Yakima Valley Museum is featuring the beloved Quinceañera exhibit and Nalya Marquez’s dress and accessories. Nalya celebrated her Quinceañera on March 25, 2017 in Yakima. Her beautiful dress was custom made in Mexico. It took six months for the seamstress to craft the intricate beading on the bodice and ruching of the skirt. Nalya’s accessories included custom sneakers, a matching bouquet, scepter, tiara, champagne flute, and doll. Nalya generously donated her Quinceañera dress and accessories to the Yakima Valley Museum so they can continue to share the Quinceañera tradition with visitors for years to come.
