Fresh Hop Ale Releases at Bale Breaker Brewing Company! Bale Breaker Brewing takes ?fresh hops? to another level. Located right on their fourth generation hop farm, they can proudly state that it takes only four minutes for hops to travel from the picking machine in the field to the brewery kettle where they expertly craft the freshest of fresh hop ales. Bale Breaker will be brewing and releasing 16 total fresh hop brews on tap all throughout the month of harvest. Check out their scheduled releases throughout hop harvest season:
September 6th: Hazy IPA Rotator Series-Prepare for an out-of-this-world experience with the second release in our Hazy IPA Rotator Series. Introducing Haze Harvester Fresh Hop Hazy IPA: a vibrant and bold creation. This brew features our homegrown Citra?, Simcoe?, and Sabro? hops, with an infusion of freshly harvested Strata. Bright aromatics of grapefruit, peach, berries, and coconut will transport your taste buds to new dimensions.
September 24: Green Rush Fresh Hop IPA-Every September brings the Green Rush: the annual influx of brewers and beer lovers to the Yakima Valley to search out the best fresh hops. We?ve got a front row seat from our family hop farm, and this year, we?ve again partnered with the legendary Russian River to create a fresh hop IPA that tastes like striking gold ? fresh hop gold, that is. This fresh hop West Coast IPA features freshly picked homegrown Simcoe? hops for vibrant aromas of grapefruit, peach, mango, and resin.
October 3rd: Citra Slicker Wet Hop IPA-Each hop harvest, the big city brewers from Cloudburst Brewing make the trek from downtown Seattle over the Cascades to team up with the farm brewers from Bale Breaker to brew Citra? Slicker Wet Hop IPA, a fresh hop beer that was first brewed in 2014 with then-owner of Elysian Brewing, Dick Cantwell. While it takes the Cloudburst team over two hours to get to Bale Breaker, the hundreds of pounds of wet Citra? hops picked fresh from the fields travel just four minutes from farm to kettle. Heavily dry-hopped, while light in color and body, this beer is all about these fresh, farm-grown hops!
Harvest hours: from September 2nd - October 5th, Bale Breaker will be open 12pm - 9pm, Monday - Saturday & 12pm - 6pm on Sundays! balebreaker.com

Farms, Shinn & Sons and Virgil Gamache Farms! These infusions will be

Yakima, and at the Spur Tavern in Harrah.
Varietal Beer Company is taking over the Schab?s Bier Den taproom to celebrate fresh hop season! Join them for a curated tap list of beers and a whole ?hoppy? vibe through harvest! Of course, their Sunnyside taproom remains open and will open on Mondays for harvest season! Either spot, expect great beers and special kegs with the wettest hops. Live Music every weekend! Friday & Saturday nights, 7pm - 10pm! No cover, tips are encouraged, and all goes to the musicians.
Friday - Open Mic Night - Local and sometimes visiting musicians take turns on the stage at Kana playing great guitar based music as you unwind with a glass of wine after a long week at work (often starts as early as 5pm).
Saturday - Aphrodisi-Yaks - This local rock band is a regular around town and at Kana, playing well-rehearsed rock and roll covers, along with a touch of country. Their unique trademark is great mandolin playing in the mix!

Crush for Cancer 2nd Annual Fundraiser benefiting North Star Lodge of the Memorial Foundation, September 21st from 11am - 8pm. Cancer continues to be a ubiquitous disease that affects more than the person afflicted. After winning their battle, the Whitmans felt compelled to help others who face cancer by supporting initiatives that provide the latest technologies, therapies, and treatments related to cancer care.
Knowing
that no one fights this battle alone, we are honored to partner with North Star
Lodge of the Memorial Foundation to raise money for their efforts of
facilitating patient care. Thirty percent of wine bottle purchases during the
week of September 16th through September 22nd, both online and in the
tasting room, will be directly contributed toward North Star Lodge. Whitman
Hill is also hosting an intimate coursed wine
dinner the evening of Friday the 20th. Crush for Cancer culminates in
the main event on Saturday, September 21st with many opportunities to
donate and contribute to the cause, such as a floating luminary memorial and a
special wine label series. This year, we are proud to feature The Real Food Dude food
truck, a dessert bar from The
Quirky Spatula, an old-world grape stomp, condensed vineyard tours
highlighting the harvest season, a raffle with amazing prizes, and lawn games. Michael Powers will
display his musical prowess from 1pm - 4pm, performing blues-inspired
music with the guitar as a focal point. We encourage donations for all provided
activities and entertainment throughout the day, payable at the tasting room
bar. We have invited back KCJ
Jazz Company for a free evening performance from 5:30pm - 8pm when the
dedication ceremony will occur on Whitman Pond. We are in the process of making
this a huge commemorative bash, so check back for more details as the event.

Harvest Bounty Between the Vines Estate Vineyard Tours at Whitman Hill Winery September 25th - October 27th. The moment the entire year?s efforts have led up to is finally upon us again. Discover what happens at each stage of harvest and why this is our favorite, yet most demanding, time of year at the winery. We are constantly monitoring the development of the grapes in our 25 acre vineyard. In the weeks leading up to harvest, our vineyard manager and winemaker make visits to sample grapes, gauging overall balance between sugars, acids, and tannins to determine the optimal time to harvest each block. For a wine lover, being part of harvest season can be a very special experience as it brings you closer to the terroir that gives Whitman Hill wines their varietal characteristics. Bryson Evans- Live Music, September 27th from 7pm - 10pm. Bryson's
music is a unique blend of his many influences - Hank Williams, Tom Waits, and
The Allman Brothers, to name a few. His songs are about real life- hard work,
lessons learned, love, loss, pain, good times and bad. With roots in Classic
Country and Americana, you can?t find someone more dedicated to creating music
that honors those who came before him as well as those who play by his side.
Bryson intermixes happy tunes with sad truths in a way that could bring you to
your feet while simultaneously bringing you to tears. He is fueled by the
passion to share his stories, traveling and singing at every opportunity, most
recently solo and acoustic. whistlinjacks.com/events

Jo-Anne has been writing songs for years. The guitar is the perfect foil for the power, sensuality and feeling behind the vocals. Her song lyrics range from sentimental to serious; the sound from rock to blues and beyond. The cover songs are a unique blend of the unexpected. There is something for everyone ? she never disappoints. JoAnn?s style of music pairs well our 2023 Hats Off Dry Pinot Blanc or our 2019 Primitivo, both like a hug from an old friend and a singalong good time. JoAnn Carlson live on the patio, September 27th.
Reservations available on our website: MAKE A RESERVATION or by calling 509-574-4794.
