Spring into Downtown Yakima!

Due to popular demand we are holding a Small Business Saturday event in spring. We are calling it Spring into Downtown Yakima. The format will closely follow our fall event.

Spring into Downtown Yakima

  • Saturday, May 15, 2021
  • 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Passports, drawing for gift baskets, special promotions at each participating business, complimentary Shop Small totes, posters, maps
  • 3 check-in stations where patrons pick up their passport, map, and instructions

How will the promotion work?

  • Shoppers will be given a passport at one of three check-in locations in downtown. They will be entered into a drawing by turning in a completed passport. A completed passport has 5 stamps on it from 5 different individual businesses and at least one proof of purchase. A purchase is not required for a stamp but at least one proof of purchase is necessary to turn in a passport.
  • The drawing will be for gift baskets made up of gift cards and product provided by participating businesses.
  • Businesses should create offers and other fun promotions for customers to enhance the promotion, along with promoting the event through their advertising and social media channels.
  • DAY will promote the overall event and will provide materials for in-store promotion (extra passports, stamps, poster, maps of participating businesses, and complimentary shopping totes).
  • Your business will be included in a full color advertisement that will be featured in local print media.
  • The overall goal is to have lots of shoppers walking from business-to-business, patronizing businesses they have never been in before, generating sales while also increasing exposure for each business and the downtown as a whole.

How do I participate?

  • Sign up with DAY by filling out this form prior to the deadlin e.
  • Participation requires a $35 registration fee for marketing and supplies, and a $50 gift card or equivalent product for the gift baskets (Discuss with DAY staff if providing merchandise).
  • Enthusiastically take part in Spring into Downtown Yakima by engaging shoppers with the promotion, passing out maps, stamping their passports and providing great deals and fun promotions that showcase your business, making them want to come back!

Important Details

  • Deadline for business registration (fee paid, form filled out) is Wednesday, April 20, 5 pm.
  • If you are hosting a pop-up business, an additional registration fee is required for each business (see registration form)
