Luminaria at the Yakima Area Arboretum

6 p.m.- 10 p.m. Take a magical candle-lit walk through the wintry wonderland of the Yakima Area Arboretum during the annual Luminaria. This two-night event will enchant the entire family with over a thousand candles lighting their way.

Luminaria features a .8-mile loop trail through the Arboretum's wintery landscape, lit by the light of over 1000 candles. The trail is flat and suitable for all walkers. While on the trail enjoy listening to music from the Arboretumís Carillon Bell Tower and view the lights in the trees. Inside you can warm up with cups of Tree Top apple cider, Starbuck's coffee, and hot chocolate, all while enjoying live music, children's crafts, and shopping in the Tree House Gift Shop.

You will also be able to get a bite to eat while you're here as Blissful Bites and What I Crave will be parked in our Founder's Courtyard.

The entrance drive into the Arboretum will be closed to all traffic, except those with permits, starting at 5:00 PM. Yakima Transit is offering a FREE shuttle service from the U-Haul parking lot across the street to the front doors of the Jewett Interpretive Center. You are also welcome to park at U-Haul and walk to the Arboretum.

Holders of official handicap parking stickers and pre-arranged Arboretum parking passes can park in designated parking areas in front of the Arboretum's Jewett Interpretive Center during the event.  Warning: If you have an official pass you will be UNABLE to turn directly from Highway 24/Nob Hill Boulevard into the Arboretum. For access to the Arboretum you will first need to turn into the U-Haul parking area before driving back across the street using the stoplight.  Please present your pass to the gate attendants.
