Currently run\nby Jeanne\u2019s grandson, Rory Gangle, McGuire\u2019s has been family owned and operated\nfor the nearly 40 years Jeanne has owned it. They care for their staff and\ntheir customers like family. \u201cWe care for one another and for <em>everyone<\/em> and it all goes around\u201d says Jeanne,\ndescribing the camaraderie among their regulars. \u201cWhen one of our customers\nneeded to travel to Seattle for open heart surgery, another customer\nvolunteered to drive him,\u201d adds Rory. Customers care for the McGuire\u2019s team\ntoo. When McGuire\u2019s needed to expand the restaurant to accommodate growth,\ncustomers volunteered to help with the addition \u2013 after all, it\u2019s a place like\nhome for many of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p> \u201cWe care for one another and for <em>everyone<\/em> and it all goes around\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From regulars to newcomers, you\u2019ll find a relaxed and\ndiverse crowd, sipping beers, having fun, sharing their stories with one\nanother and throwing darts. \u201cThere are so many wonderful people here,\u201d says\nRory. \u201cI can\u2019t tell you all the wonderful things I\u2019ve learned about them over time.\u201d\nThe walls tell their stories through photographs from over the years and\nshelves are filled with Irish keepsakes, many gifted to McGuire\u2019s by customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Taste of Ireland\nand The Valley<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McGuire\u2019s boasts an expansive menu with something for\neveryone. Be sure to try the signature soda bread and choose from Irish\nfavorites such as bubble and squeak, shepherd\u2019s pie, Irish stew and, of course,\ncorned beef and cabbage. You\u2019ll also find American favorites and one of the\nbest breakfasts in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a from-scratch kitchen, the McGuire\u2019s team takes pride\nin sourcing as much as possible from Yakima Valley Growers, not only for the\nquality of Valley harvests, but to give back to the community. \u201cWe wish\neveryone here success,\u201d says Jeanne. \u201cWe like to see Yakima keep growing and\ncreating jobs for everyone.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"You don\u2019t have to wait for St. Patrick\u2019s Day to find the spirit of the Irish running strong in the Yakima Valley.
