Valentines Day kicks off the premier winter wine event in the Yakima Valley, Red Wine & Chocolate Weekend. Every year on Presidents Day weekend wineries roll out the red carpet and invite you to taste their signature red wines artfully paired with chocolate delicacies. Plan your get away with someone special and find your perfect pairing!

You’ll find special tastings, music and more at wineries around the Valley, but here’s a peek at some. Stop by VanArnam Vineyards and meet the Selberg Sweets chocolate master himself as he shares his passion for delicious treats paired with VanArnam’s award-winning wines. At Freehand Cellars savor custom chocolates by Yakima’s Boehm’s Candies and Chocolates with romantic, black and white movies playing all day. Barrel Springs Winery will pair premium wines with delicious confections. Try their signature chocolate raspberry ganache brownies with cabernet franc, and chocolate covered jalapenos with syrah. Sleeping Dog Wines will be serving a flourless chocolate torte infused with 2008 merlot, accompanied by 2011 Ciel de Chien red blend.  Milbrandt Vineyards is partnering with local favorite, Jade’s British Girl Treats to offer a red wine-infused truffle making demonstration on Saturday. Desert Wind Winery is planning a festive weekend featuring house-made chocolates and a gourmet hot cocoa bar. At Milbrandt Winery listen to the Latin inspired music of Eddie Manzaneras from 12 to 3 pm and Amber Sweeny from 3 to 6 pm on Saturday.
