Who’s ready to kick off the Yakima Valley’s festival and event season? With warmer weather comes a fantastic lineup of spring and early summer events. From a signature wine tasting weekend, everyone’s favorite wine run and a mountain music festival to remember to vibrant food and cultural events, you’ll find a perfect way to enjoy the flavors, sights and sounds of the Valley. Time to take a trip!

Spring Barrel Weekend  Yakima Valley wineries celebrate the season by opening their doors for springtime festivities during Spring Barrel Weekend. Spring Barrel delivers a unique wine tasting experience. Take a trip the last weekend in April to discover the next great vintages with special tasting experiences all around Yakima Valley Wine Country. Enjoy tastes of maturing wines pulled from the barrel, brand new spring wine releases, perfect pairings, educational events, tours, goods and tasty bites from local vendors, live music and more.

Yakima Taco Fest Yakima’s newest favorite food festival celebrates the Valley’s vibrant Latino culture and agricultural heritage. After phenomenal success and growth the first four years, this year’s festival promises to be even better. After all, what’s better than tacos and craft beverages?  The event brings people together to taste fusion and traditional tacos, sip local craft beverages and dance to the sweet rhythm of Latin music. Enjoy the flavors from locals’ favorite taco vendors and craft beverage makers, offering craft beer, wine and cider. This event is picnic style. Bring your blankets or folding chairs! Check out last year’s event video and mark your calendar for May 4.

Sunnyside Cinco de Mayo Festival Celebrate the Valley’s vibrant Latino heritage, May 3 to 5, with the largest cultural festival around. Savor authentic Mexican cuisine, listen to the sounds of traditional Latin rhythms with live music all weekend and enjoy dance performances, dancing horses, a carnival, an eating contest, parade and more!

Rattlesnake Hills Wine Run This could be one of the best races around! On May 18, run a 5k, 10k, 15k or half marathon through the beautiful, rolling hills and vineyards of the Yakima Valley’s Rattlesnake Hills Wine Country. Enjoy sipping stops along the way at favorite wineries. Celebrate your finish at the after party complete with more wine, food, vendors and even post-race massages!

Chinook Fest This mountain music festival, June 6 to 9, is where great music meets the great outdoors. Chinook Fest 2024 will feature everything you love about Chinook Fest and a few new things too. This perennial favorite festival fills the entire weekend with a fantastic lineup of premium performers. This year, you can also enjoy the art of sound healing with a meadow sound bath or wake for morning yoga in the meadow. Find friends and fun in the festival activity zone for games and more. Get ready for the campsite decorating contest. Of course, bring your hiking shoes to explore the surrounding trails.  Make your reservations for the greatest mountain music festival, as tickets and RV and camping spots can go quickly. Check out other nearby places to stay. Onsite parking is included with all festival passes.

Sunnyside Summer Ale Fest You can’t find a better place for a craft beer festival than right in the heart of hop country. Head to the town of Sunnyside on June 22 for a summertime celebration of the world-class hops it produces. Spend a day under the sun with great craft beer, local wine, food and live music.

Old Town Days See history come to life with a look into the past. On Fathers Day weekend, June 15 to 16, the grounds of the Central Washington Agricultural Museum will be full of living history camps, displays and hands-on activities showcasing pioneer life. Check out the state’s largest Civil War reenactment and family fun to fill the day.
