Shop Small This Christmas!

Shop Small This Christmas!

December 9, 2020

Support Yakima Valley small businesses all season long.

#ShopSmall doesn’t have to be just one Saturday a year. We’re all shopping a bit differently this holiday season, so why not lend support to some of our unique Yakima Valley small businesses now, when they need it most? Consider visiting or ordering with a small business that’s new to you. Stop by a boutique you’ve never visited, send Yakima Valley craft beverages to your family or friends you may not see this season or send flavors of the Valley from local farm markets.

Unique Boutiques

The Yakima Valley is home to several lovely boutiques, each with a unique spin.

Farmgirl Pickings is a relative newcomer to the Yakima shopping scene but they’ve made a mark, quickly becoming a favorite! They share their passion for creating, gardening and decorating with vintage and unique finds. Find the perfect gift with the personal touch in their farmhouse-style boutique.

Fiddlesticks has been a fixture in Yakima for 35 years! It’s a locals’ favorite stop for décor, clothing, gifts, jewelry and more. It’s  must-visit spot during the holidays.

French Vanilla Market is worth the drive to Sunnyside! They put their creative touch on everything you’ll find inside. From décor and clothing to delectable soaps and other bath and beauty items, they procure a lovely selection of gifts.

Inklings Bookshop  is Valley gem. Independent bookstores are worth supporting every day of the year. They’re dedicated to bringing Yakima the best of the world of books. You can order online and place special orders as well! Their staff selections are never a miss and they also have a fantastic selection of toys, gifts, puzzles and more.

Shopkeeper is your place for exquisite gifts this season with fine holiday décor throughout the store. It’s worth visiting just to soak up the spirit of the season.

Vintage Me  in downtown Yakima delivers vintage-inspired style with a beautiful selection of clothing, jewelry and gifts. Also enjoy home and garden décor, both vintage and new. They specializes in creative repurposing. Check out their beautiful holiday selections.

Yakima Valley Visitor Information Center carefully curates locally made goods and wines from throughout the Valley to share with family, friends and business associates. Stop by or call and talk with Adam about crafting your custom gift baskets.

Farm Market Flavors

Don’t overlook the Valley’s farm markets for gift giving and for your table this season!

Ahtanum Berry Patch delivers delectable seasonal treats from their bakeshop. It may not be fresh berry season, but they’re stocked with cookies, pies, handmade granola and, of course, jams. Check their Facebook page for hours.

Johnson Orchards is the local go-to for handmade pies of all types, as well as a wide selection of artisan baked goods. Of course, you’ll find local apples and other locally sourced gifts and gourmet food items.

Washington Fruit Place and Gift Shop @ Barrett Orchards is another locals’ destination every season. During the holidays they transform their gift shop into a holiday paradise with unique décor, gourmet foods, apples and gift baskets.

Yakima Valley Sips & Bites

Don’t forget Yakima Valley wineries, breweries  and restaurants are small businesses too! Now’s the perfect time to lend support to these industries in need. Order your favorite wine or craft brew for your holiday table, gift to local friends or have it shipped to family and friends away. Gift the gift of a night out with gift cards to your favorite local restaurants. Send a gift card to out-of-town family for their next visit to the Valley. Several of them are offering delicious Christmas and New Year’s to-go dinners. Check their social channels for details!
