Polar Bear Plunge Swim Meet
Location: YakimaThe Yakima YMCA Swim Team will host the annual Polar Bear Plunge Swim Meet on January 13-15, at Lion's Pool, in Yakima. Expected visiting clubs are the Velocity, from Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Tri-Cities Channel Cats, and the Ellensburg Area Swim Team. Warm-ups begin at 8:30 followed by the preliminary heats at 10:00 each day.

23rd Annual Central Washington Sportsmen's Show
Location: YakimaThe 23nd Annual Central Washington Sportsmen Show will be held February 17-19, at the Yakima Valley SunDome. The show hours are 1:00pm - 8:00pm on Friday, 10:00am - 7:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00am - 5:00 pm on Sunday. Admission will be $8 for adults and $4 for children, ages 6-12. Children under the age of 6 will be admitted free.

"Think Spring" Gymnastics Meet
Location: YakimaThe 2012 "Think Spring" Gymnastics Meet will be held on Saturday, February 17, at Gymnastics Plus, located at 2121 West Lincoln Avenue in Yakima.
The meet will feature boys and girls from 7-18 years old. Competition will take place in class levels based on ability, not age. Levels 4-10 will be offered.

Location: EllensburgThe Kittitas Valley Junior Soccer Association will host the President's Day 5 v. 5 Indoor Soccer Tournament on, February 18-19, 2012. There will be three divisions each, for boys and girls: 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade. Sports Connection Gun Show
Location: YakimaThe Sports Connection will hold the first of it's four 2012 gun shows in Yakima, on February 25-26, in the Modern Living Building at State Fair Park. This is a popular show with several vendors. The show hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday and 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Sunday. Vendors can set up from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm Friday, February 24th, or one hour before the show opens on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $6. Parking is free in the south lot, Gate 5.

Spring Fling AAU Basketball Tournament
Location: EllensburgThe 18th Annual Spring Fling AAU Basketball Tournament will be held in Ellensburg on March 2-4, 2012. This tournament is sponsored by the Central Washington University Recreation Department. There will be seven boys and seven girls divisions, from 3rd grade to 8th grade. The tournament is limited to the first 50 teams to sign up, with a maximum of 8 teams per division. The play begins at 5:00pm on Friday, and starts at 8:00am on both Saturday and Sunday. Location: YakimaThe Yakima Valley Community College Yaks Baseball Team will host the 3rd Annual Bill Faller Invitational Baseball Tournament at Parker Field on March 3-4. Teams from Skagit Valley Community College, Grays Harbor Community College, and Green River Community College will participate, along with YVCC. The final game of the tournament is scheduled for 6:00pm, Sunday March 4th. -

14th Annual Magic of Basketball AAU Tournament
Location: SunnysideThe 14th Annual Magic of Basketball AAU Tournament will be held in Sunnyside on March 9-11. There will be at least 18 divisions in this boys and girls tournament, held in various Sunnyside and Grandview area gyms. The divisions will run from 2nd grade to high school. The tournament will start at 5:30pm on Friday, March 9th and 9:00am on both Saturday and Sunday. All teams will be guaranteed four games.

Don Holder Relays
Location: YakimaThe 38th Annual Don Holder Relays will be hosted by Eisenhower High School on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Zaepfel Stadium. There will be several individual events as well as a selected number of relays. The competition will begin at 10:00 am. Approximately 25 teams from around the northwest will attend the event.

12th Annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon
Location: EllensburgThe 12th Annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon will be held on March 31, 2012. This is an extremely challenging run that attracts some of the top distance runners in the Northwest to Yakima, Selah and Ellensburg. The race begins at 8:00 am.

NWAACC SPring Crossover Softball Tournament
Location: YakimaThe 2012 NWAACC Spring Crossover Softball Tournament will be held on April 21-22, at the Gateway Sports Complex at Kiwanis Park. Fastpitch teams from all divisions of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges are expected to participate. Twenty-four teams attended the tournament in 2011. 28th Annual Gap2Gap Relay
Location: YakimaThe Gap2Gap relay is a multi-sport relay race comprised of five legs: The Elite course includes a field run, a 20 mile mountain bike, 8K kayak/canoe, 30 mile road bike, and 10K run. The Sport Course features an in-line skate leg in place of the kayak/canoe, an 8 mile mountain bike leg. Both courses have the same 30 mile road bike course and a 5K run. The race takes place on and around the Yakima Greenway, along the scenic Yakima River.
The Junior Gap2Gap is a version of the race for kids 6-14. Kids run, bike, rollerblade, paddle in Reflection Pond, and navigate an obstacle course in Sarg Hubbard Park.

10th Annual Redhawk Classic Baseball Tournamnent
Location: MoxeeThe 2012 10th Annual Redhawk Classic Baseball Tournament that will be held on July 12-15 at East Valley High School's Loftus Fields. This is a twelve team tournament and visiting teams will include Bellevue, Interlake, Skyview, White River and Elma.
Tournament play will begin at 9:00 am Thursday, with each team guaranteed three games, one each on Thursday through Saturday. Six teams will advance to Sunday's round, with the championship game at 4:30 pm. For more information, call the Yakima Valley Sports Commission, 576-6375. -
