*Elk and Big Horn Sheep Feeding Station
Date: 2/8/2010 - 2/28/2010
Location: Naches
On Hwy. 12, 2 mi. west of the junction of Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 410
Elk are fed daily at 1:30 pm at the Oak Creek Headquarters, and the bighorn sheep are fed mid-morning at the Cleman Mountain Feeding site. A normal winter season is mid-December to early March. Truck tours are available on a first-come, first served and reservation basis to take visitors out amonst the elk. These tours are supported by donations.The visitor center at the Oak Creek Headquarters is open every day between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and is staffed by AmeriCorps and Wildlife Education Corps volunteers. Look for the helpful folks in the blue vests and caps. The center has a video program, exhibits, and a kids' corner. There is no charge to view the exhibits, but donations are welcomed.
