Pepper Fewel, owner of Cherry Wood Bed, Breakfast and Barn, will be honored at the Women of Courage: Braving New Horizons gala hosted by The University of Washington Women’s Center in November. Yakama Nation Fruit & Produce is a vehicle for Yakama Nation Land Enterprise to provide their products directly to the general public, as well as the products of other local farmers.. They sell their own grown products like asparagus, apples, and peaches along with some of their Native American artwork and beaded items. The stand is located on US Hwy 97 S just before Lateral A in Wapato.
Inklings Bookshop is a community minded, family-owned, proudly independent bookshop. The dedicated staff of experienced booksellers ensure that the well-stocked shelves offer a large variety of books. Gifts, toys and cards are also available and the shop offers many author events and a weekly story time. Pets on leash are welcomed to peruse the shelves with their owners.

Treveri Sparkling Wine Cellars was recently awarded Double Gold medal wins for both the Treveri Extra-Brut Chardonnay and the Treveri Syrah Brut from the Seattle Wine Awards. Both wines entered this year were the choice of Chef Jason L. Larkin at the State Department in Washington D.C. for Hillary Clinton’s holiday receptions held in the Diplomatic Reception Rooms.
Concerts and grandstand shows will be part of the entertainment line-up for the Central Washington State Fair held September 21 – 30, 2012 in Yakima. A diverse group of entertainers and events has been presented as part of the Les Schwab Concert Series and Coca-Cola Grandstand Shows during the ten day event.
Officials are providing quality entertainment at the Fair in an effort to give patrons a chance to enjoy some great music and watch some exciting events, not only on the weekends but throughout the week as well.

Kana Winery announced that two of their wines have become the house wines at Danny & Company in Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei Teppanyaki guru Danny Teng, visited last year and has recently chosen the 2007 Old Vines and 2010 Katie-Mae vintages. Danny & Company is the latest venture of Danny Teng, billed by Taipei foodies as the “godfather of steak”.
