Dream that in the course of only eleven days you can hear live the Brubeck Brothers playing jazz, the Kairos String Quartet and Finisterra Piano Trios playing classical and contemporary music, Dena Derose's vocal styling, the hot-hot Imani Winds playing world music, a turn at the keyboard by Daron Hagen accompanying elegant cabaret numbers, African dancers and drummers, lectures, wine tastings and an orchestra concert featuring music of today and tomorrow.
Add the excitement of having an academy of a dozen young national-level composers and condunctors between the ages of seventeen and thirty-eight drawn to Yakima from all over the country, composing and conduncting new works in diverse styles for these groups under the guidance of faculty members: Brooke Creswell, Don Thulean, Daron Hagen, Chris Brubeck and Gilda Lyons.
